This document outlines the warranty, exclusions, and liability waivers applicable to all plumbing repairs conducted by Pro Detect Leak Detection. By accepting our quote, the client acknowledges and agrees to these terms.
Repair Warranty
All repairs are covered by a 12-month limited warranty applicable to workmanship and parts. This warranty excludes any damage, failure, or defect caused by ground movement, external damage, improper installation by third parties, hydrostatic pressure, soil conditions, tree roots, chemical
corrosion, or any other external factors outside our control. If a leak occurs within the 12-month warranty period, the following process will apply:
- A pressure test will be conducted on the repaired line to assess its integrity.
- If the pressure test passes, this confirms that the repaired section is not the source of the issue. A Single Pipe Pressure Test fee will apply, and further leak detection may be required at an additional cost.
- If the pressure test fails, the location of the failure will be determined.
- If the failure is found in the exact same location as the original repair, it will be repaired under warranty at no cost, provided the failure was not caused by external factors such as significant ground movement, shifting, hydrostatic pressure, tree roots, structural failure, or other non-workmanship-related causes.
- If the failure is in a different location, the repair is not covered under warranty, and a Single Pipe Pressure Test fee will apply, followed by a separate quote for any additional required work. This warranty strictly applies to workmanship and parts installed by Pro Detect Leak Detection. Any failure, leak, or damage resulting from pre-existing conditions, unanticipated environmental factors, poor maintenance, improper chemical balancing, third-party modifications, or non-compliant plumbing outside our repair scope will void this warranty.
Exclusions
- Matching of concrete colour, texture, or surface finish—only a functional concrete patch will be applied.
- Repair of any additional leaks beyond the identified location—any further leaks discovered after the primary repair will require a separate quote.
- Liability for ground movement, shifting, hydrostatic pressure changes, or structural failure affecting the repaired area.
- Responsibility for unforeseen circumstances during excavation, including but not limited to additional leaks, buried utilities, tree roots, contaminated soil, or damaged infrastructure. Any additional repairs outside the quoted scope will require a separate assessment and quote.
- Structural pool testing, hydrostatic valve inspections, or any non-pipe-related structural assessments.
- Landscaping, tiling, decking, paving, or any surface restoration beyond the necessary concrete patching to reinstate the excavation area.
- If additional excavation is required due to unforeseen subsurface conditions, such as buried utilities, unanticipated pipe placements, bedrock, or additional leaks discovered during the repair, additional costs may apply.
- We do not guarantee that additional leaks will not exist beyond the identified repair location. Testing is limited to the hydraulics of the identified issue, and additional leaks may only become evident after the primary repair is completed.
- If tile, decking, or other coverings need to be removed as part of the repair, we do not take liability for any damage to these materials during removal. Any reinstallation or replacement must be carried out by a third party at the client’s expense.
- We are not responsible for damage to surrounding structures, fences, retaining walls, or other property elements caused by necessary excavation or repair work.
- If the repair involves pipes that are deteriorated, aged, or compromised beyond the immediate repair area, additional pipe failures may occur. We are not responsible for failures outside of the repaired section.
- Any damage or failure caused by pool water chemistry issues, including excessive chlorine, acidic water conditions, or improper chemical balancing, is not covered under this repair.
- If any existing pipework is non-compliant with current plumbing standards, we will notify the client, but we are not responsible for upgrading or modifying non-compliant plumbing unless specifically included in the scope of work.
Liability Waiver
- By accepting this quote, the client agrees to the following liability waivers:
- Access & Site Conditions
- The client must ensure safe and clear access to the repair area.
- We are not responsible for property damage caused by difficult access, restricted workspaces, or obstacles, including landscaping, fences, retaining walls, or structures.
- Unforeseen Conditions & Additional Work
- If unforeseen site conditions such as hidden utilities, tree roots, unstable soil, additional leaks, or deteriorated pipework are encountered, any required additional work will be quoted separately and must be approved before proceeding.
- We are not liable for delays or additional costs arising from these unforeseen circumstances.
- Third-Party Work & Compliance
- If work by other contractors (e.g., tilers, deck builders, electricians, licensed plumbers) is required, the client is responsible for engaging and covering these services. We are not liable for delays, costs, or workmanship of third-party contractors.
- If any additional compliance upgrades are required, such as drainage modifications, the client is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Surface Restoration & Environmental Impact
- Our repair process involves excavation, pipe replacement, and concrete reinstatement. We are not responsible for restoring surfaces to their original aesthetic condition.
- If a property’s foundation, paving, or soil integrity is impacted by necessary excavation, we are not liable for associated damage or subsidence.
- Pre-Existing & Secondary Leaks
- If additional leaks exist beyond the identified repair location, they may not become apparent until after the primary repair is completed. We do not guarantee that the system will be entirely leak-free after a single repair.
- Further testing and repairs may be required at additional cost if further issues are discovered.
- Weather & External Delays
- We are not responsible for weather-related delays that may affect excavation, curing times, or job scheduling. Any rescheduling required due to weather conditions will be communicated with the client.
- Hydrostatic Pressure & Soil Shifting
- We do not take liability for damage or failures caused by hydrostatic pressure, soil expansion/contraction, or pool structure movement affecting the repaired pipework.
